Moor End Lane update: 18 October 2024

Information for residents

Ground collapse at Moorend Houses, Silkstone Common

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

Progress this week

  • Site safety documentation has now been fully approved and is in place.
  • We have received the temporary works designs from our contractor.
  • There has been some activity on site this week with our contractor carrying out further preparatory works.
  • We completed the weekly survey of the monitoring studs and shared these results with your appointed engineer.

Next week

  • We will continue preparatory works at the start of the week. We expect that preliminary ground works will start towards the end of the week, or at the start of the following week. Working hours are generally between 8am and 4pm, although occasionally these may extend to 6pm. There is likely to be some noise and disruption, but we will keep these to a minimum, particularly before 9am and after 5pm. If you do have any concerns at any time, please let us know.
  • Our Project Manager will be onsite at various points throughout the week.
  • The stud monitoring will take place as usual on Wednesday. The surveyor will continue to access the studs via the rear of the properties.
  • We will continue to speak to residents individually about their circumstances and concerns, as well as via the represented contact.

Next update:

We will provide a further update on Friday 25 October.
