Information for residents

Ground collapse at Moorend Houses, Silkstone Common

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

Progress this week

  • There has been no activity on site this week.
  • We have continued to liaise with your appointed engineer and have answered their questions about the weekly monitoring results. We have replied to all their questions about the temporary works.
  • We completed the weekly survey of the monitoring studs.
  • As agreed with residents, there was no onsite meeting this week.

Next week

  • We have agreed with your appointed engineer that our contractor can start moving onto site from 30 September. You will start to see more activity on site next week as our contractor moves on to site and carries out preparatory work. This will include the delivery of machinery and materials to our compound and the final positioning of safety fencing.
  • The stud monitoring will take place as usual on Wednesday. The surveyor will continue to access the studs via the rear of the properties.
  • There will be a residents meeting next week at 6pm on Wednesday 2 October.

Works to the mine shaft

It is planned for these works to begin week commencing 7 October. We will continue to provide weekly updates of our progress and give advance notice of future work.

In the meantime, we are continuing to speak to residents individually about their circumstances and concerns, as well as via the represented contact.
