Moor End Lane update: 15 November 2024
Information for residents
Ground collapse at Moorend Houses, Silkstone Common
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
Progress this week
- We have continued to make progress this week. We have completed the excavation and all the temporary works.
- Both your appointed engineer and our engineer attended the site on Thursday and confirmed that they were happy with our progress.
- We completed the weekly survey of the monitoring studs which showed no movement. We continue to share these results with your appointed engineer.
- We intended to start pouring the concrete blinding layer today. However, due to a delay in the availability of a concrete pump, this will not start until Monday 18 November.
- As agreed with residents, there was no onsite meeting this week.
Next week
- You will notice more activity on site on Monday as we will be pouring the concrete blinding layer. There will be concrete mixers on site. We will try to limit disruption as much as possible, but some will be inevitable. We would recommend that residents avoid the area at the back of the properties whilst these works are undertaken.
- Once we have poured the concrete blinding layer, we will focus on steel fixing for the rest of the week.
- The stud monitoring will take place as usual on Wednesday. The surveyor will continue to access the studs via the rear of the properties.
In the meantime, we are continuing to speak to residents individually about their circumstances and concerns, as well as via the represented contact.
Next update:
We will provide a further update on Friday 22 November.
