Moor End Lane update: 10 January 2025

Information for residents 

Ground collapse at Moorend Houses, Silkstone Common 

Thank you for your continued patience. 

Progress this week 

• Due to the weather conditions, we were unable to be on site this week. We assessed the site conditions again on Wednesday, and found it was unsafe for the works to continue.  

• The weekly stud monitoring took place on Thursday.  

• As agreed with residents, there was no onsite meeting this week. 

Next week 

• We hope weather conditions will allow us to be back on site next week. We plan to reinstate fence lines and start work on reinstating driveways and the section of track behind properties 7, 8 and 9. We have contacted residents individually to discuss our plans for this work and to agree the materials that will be used. A cement truck will be on site while we complete this work and we would recommend residents avoid the area outside the back of the properties during this time. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.  

• The stud monitoring will take place as usual on Wednesday. The surveyor will continue to access the studs via the rear of the properties. 

• We will continue to speak to residents individually about their circumstances and concerns, as well as via the represented contact.
