Moor End Lane update: 14 February 2025
Information for residents
Ground collapse at Moorend Houses, Silkstone Common
Thank you for your continued patience.
Progress this week
- We have continued to remediate residents driveways.
- The access road around the properties has been fully restored.
- The safety fences have been removed from around the work area, restoring full access to the rear of the properties.
- Work began on reinstating the temporary car park land on Thursday 13 February.
- Work on the track behind number 4 and the driveway of Hartford Cottage has been completed
- As agreed with residents, there was no onsite meeting this week.
Next week
- We will be repairing the tarmac track and roadway between the properties and main road. Prior to starting the work, we will communicate the timings. The work will involve closing the road for approximately 3 hours. No access will be available in both directions during this time.
- Richard Booth will be on site on Monday 17 February. Should you want to raise any issues, please feel free to approach him and he will be happy to support.
- We will continue with the temporary car park and compound land reinstatement.
- Now that the rear access road remediation is complete, the stud monitoring schedule will be amended. We will carry out monthly on site readings, with the next planned survey taking place on the 26 February. Remote monitoring will remain in place during this time and the surveyor will continue to access the studs via the rear of the properties when visiting.
- We will continue to speak to residents individually about their circumstances and concerns, as well as via the represented contact.
Next update:
Our next update will be on Friday 28 February.
