Where are we proposing to treat the mine water?
We have identified a preferred site following a lengthy assessment process that has taken several years where a large number of sites were considered.
Our preferred site is site 10.

The site has been chosen because of it’s:
- distance from the mine water adit,
- size
- topography
- engineering factors
- distance from residential or business properties
- ecological or archaeological sensitivity
Although we have a preferred site, we are continuing to carry out investigations to confirm this location is suitable. We will not be able to build a mine water scheme until we have obtained planning permission from Northumberland County Council along with other environmental permits.
