Moor End Lane update: 23 August 2024
Information for residents
Ground collapse at Moorend Houses, Silkstone Common
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
Progress this week
- Your appointed engineer has reviewed the revised temporary works plan we provided and has raised some questions. We have shared these questions with our temporary works contractor and we will share the answers with your appointed engineer.
- We have shared the additional video footage from the CCTV survey with your appointed engineer.
- We completed the weekly survey of the monitoring studs.
- As agreed with residents, there was no onsite meeting this week.
Next week
- This week will continue to be quieter as there will be no contractors on site until after the revised temporary works plan has been signed off.
- The stud monitoring will take place as usual on Wednesday. The surveyor will continue to access the studs via the rear of the properties.
- As there will be no activity on site this week, we are not planning a drop-in session. However, if residents would like this to happen, please let us know and we will be happy to arrange this.
Works to the mine shaft
Due to the minor change required to the design, the works to the shaft will be slightly delayed. Once the updated design has been signed off, we expect the works to start within 2 weeks.
In the meantime, we will continue to speak to residents individually about their circumstances and concerns, as well as via the represented contact.
Next update:
We will provide a further update on Friday 30 August.
