Moor End Lane update: 28 February 2025
Information for residents
Ground collapse at Moorend Houses, Silkstone Common
Thank you for your continued patience.
Progress this fortnight
- We reinstated the temporary car park land and compound area.
- We completed reinstating residents’ driveways and the track behind the properties.
- We completed the repairs to the section of lane between the properties and the equestrian centre.
- The weekly stud monitoring took place on Wednesday
- As agreed with residents, there was no onsite meeting this week.
Next fortnight
- We will carry out post-works surveys of the properties and are in the process of confirming times for these. If any changes or concerns are observed during these inspections, we will discuss these with individual residents and provide more information about the process for rectifying any damage. We will also provide a copy of our report to residents.
- We will continue to monitor the properties for movement and the next stud monitoring visit will take place at the end of March. During this time, the sensors will still alert us if there is any movement. If there has been no movement by the time we complete the visit at the end of March, we will plan to remove the monitoring equipment and will contact you to arrange this.
General update
- We’ve received reports about water pooling in the land where the temporary car park stood. We are currently investigating these concerns.
- We have agreed with the landowner that he will repair the fence around the temporary carpark area.
- The Throstlenest Saddlery landowner has agreed to undertake repairs to the identified damaged sections of the lane between the saddlery and Moorend Lane.
Future contact:
- We know how important it is to keep residents informed on the activity and progress being made at Moorend Houses but want to ensure these updates remain relevant. As we have now fully completed our works to remediate the mine shaft, this will be our final update.
- We will continue to speak to residents individually about their circumstances and concerns, as well as via the represented contact. Residents are still able to contact Phil directly with any questions, and can also contact us on the details provided below.
- Thank you for your continued patience whilst we’ve completed the works.
