Alexander Street update: 04 July 2025

Update for residents

Following our last communication, issued on 21 May, we wanted to give a brief update about our progress.

Progress

We’ve started ground treatment at the affected properties, injecting cementitious grout material to stabilise the affected ground. The works take place between 8am and 5pm on weekdays, and are progressing on schedule. This means we anticipate completing our treatment by mid-August.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of our work, residents are likely to face disruption in two main forms: noise and parking restrictions. We’d like to thank residents for their continued patience at the disruption caused during this essential ground treatment.

Ongoing Monitoring

We’re monitoring the ground around the area to ensure resident safety. We’re pleased to report that the ground has remained stable since we began monitoring. To provide ongoing assurance, we will continue to make observations throughout our treatment plan.

Next Steps

Once we’ve completed our works, we’ll survey the properties again to identify if there has been any further damage. We will then be responsible for repairing all damage caused by coal mining subsidence. We will liaise with residents to arrange this.

We’ll have another update ready for you in mid-August.
