Alexander Street update: 20 August 2025

Following our last update on 4 July, we wanted to bring you up to date on our progress to stabilise the ground.

Progress

We’re pleased to confirm that all drilling and grouting works have been finished. This is the most disruptive part of the project, so there should be less noise and dust throughout the rest of the remediation process. We recognise that work like this can be disruptive and unsettling, and we’d like to thank residents for their ongoing patience whilst we complete this essential work.

Now that we’ve finished the drilling and grouting, our contractors will be removing all the fencing panels and posts during week commencing 18 August. This means we can now repair the communal grass areas that have been affected by our works. Our contractors will be starting this work on 27 August.

Ongoing Monitoring

We will continue monitoring the wider estate for at least another 12 months. This is to ensure that our grouting works have been successful and to provide reassurance to residents in a wider area.

Next Steps

We will be working with the individual homeowners who have experienced damage to their properties. We will be contacting them separately to discuss the repairs. Please contact us if you believe that your property has been affected by our work or by historical coal mining subsidence.
