Alexander Street
Keeping You Safe
In June 2024, we received a damage notice from the owners of a property on Alexander Terrace. We promptly visited the site on June 19 and arranged for a structural engineer to conduct a survey the next day. For public safety, we decided to relocate the property owners whilst we carried out further investigation works.
Since then we have continued to monitor the effected property for any movement and installed monitoring equipment on adjacent properties as part of our wider investigation works.
Next Steps
We will be undertaking ground investigations by drilling in the public open spaces adjacent to Alexander Street to help us understand the ground conditions and determine if there is any wider impacts from historical mining.
We will continue to work with residents and the local council, keeping them updating on our progress.
