Supporting the Local Land Charges Awards

We were delighted to support the 12th Land Data Local Land Charges Awards recently. This national event celebrates the work and achievements of local authority local land charges departments which carry out the land and property searches required for conveyancing transactions in England and Wales.

The Coal Authority was delighted to support the award for customer satisfaction for local authority searches.

Solicitors and licensed conveyancers from around the country voted for the local authority local land charges team that consistently delivers a high level of customer service. Solicitors were asked to consider quality, efficiency, reliability and value for money when making their choice. 184 votes were received for 54 local authorities, the highest number of local authorities seen since the Awards began 12 years ago.

Arun District Council was awarded the customer satisfaction award for local authority searches and Reigate & Banstead Borough Council was highly commended.

Andrew Simpson, Senior Business Account Lead at the Coal Authority, commented: “customer satisfaction is a key performance indicator for most businesses and is very much at the heart of the Coal Authority’s service. We are delighted to be sponsoring this award and to see so many different local authorities put forward by solicitors. It’s clear from the votes and comments that both Arun District Council and Reigate and Banstead are serving their customers well in terms of accuracy, speed and customer service, they were both very worthy finalists.”
