Camberwell Drive update: July 2023

Information for residents

Mine entry on grass verge at Camberwell Drive

This briefing provides information following the public meeting on 13 July

Public meeting presentation

We appreciated the opportunity to meet with residents to discuss the mine entry collapse on the grass verge at Camberwell Drive and outline the potential remediation proposals that the Coal Authority was considering.

We have taken your views and questions raised during the meeting are now using this to develop the options further and to consider what impacts these could have on the community.  We will be holding another further meeting to discuss these options in due course, along with alternative ways to communicate these to residents who may not be able to attend a meeting.

We understand your concerns about the mine entry and we will keep you regularly updated with progress on this web page.  Residents raised a number of questions  during the meeting, which we are currently reviewing and we will be posting full answers to these by 4th August 2023.

If you would prefer to receive a copy of the questions and answers by email or post, please contact our customer service team at customerservice@coal.gov.uk or on 0345 762 6848.  The team will also be able to help if you require large print or another format.

Thank you for your support and patience.
