Camberwell Drive update: June 2025

This briefing contains the latest update for residents. Previous briefings, FAQs and wider information are available here.

Diversion of utility services

We would like to thank residents for their patience whilst we finalise the plans to remediate the mine shaft and work with utility providers to divert the services which will allow us to complete this work.

We are now able to confirm that the work to divert the services will commence on Monday 16 June. During this time, temporary traffic management will be place on Camberwell Drive and Springwood Way to allow our onsite teams to operate safely whilst we prepare the ground for the new service routes to be diverted. This work will be carried out from 8.30am – 4.30pm, Monday – Friday. During this time residents may experience some noise and disruption. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Compound preparation

We have submitted the licence to Tameside council for access to the green space behind the properties on Camberwell Drive. This area will be used as a working compound for the duration of the works. We have listened to residents’ feedback regarding the proximity of the compound and will ensure that this is taken into consideration when the area is established.
